Gov. Tony Evers is doing the right thing for Wood County and all of Wisconsin. Under his leadership, 33 Wood County small businesses have opened their doors or expanded and Wood County businesses have received an additional 1,688 grants to help pay bills, stock shelves, hire employees, and more. He has also followed through on his promise to expand high-speed internet access by investing $492,988 in Wood County projects alone, extending internet access to more than 34,884 residential locations and over 1,742 businesses. Across Wisconsin, Gov. Evers continues to deliver results. 86% of Wisconsinites have received a 15% income tax cut or more, unemployment is at historic lows, and our schools are ranked among the top 10 in the nation. Gov. Evers has brought Republicans and Democrats together to do the right thing for communities and families in Wood County, and he’s just getting started.
In March 2022, Governor Tony Evers announced $549,560 in grants to nonprofit organizations benefiting Wisconsin veterans and their families. The governor said, “So much of our strength as a state is our ability to work together to tackle challenges facing folks in our communities, and that includes our veterans.” Family Health Center of Marshfield was awarded $25,000 to help offset any out-of-pocket dental expenses for veterans after all discounts have been applied. Providing no or low-cost dental services to individuals living at or below the 200 percent of the federal poverty level through a sliding fee discount program.
