Gov. Tony Evers is doing the right thing for Winnebago County and all of Wisconsin. Under his leadership, 78 Winnebago County small businesses have opened their doors or expanded and Winnebago County businesses have received an additional 3,482 grants to help pay bills, stock shelves, hire employees, and more. He has also followed through on his promise to expand high-speed internet access by investing $3,976,400 in Winnebago County projects alone, extending internet access to approximately 1,365 residential locations and approximately 3,323 businesses. Across Wisconsin, Gov. Evers continues to deliver results. 86% of Wisconsinites have received a 15% income tax cut or more, unemployment is at historic lows, and our schools are ranked among the top 10 in the nation. Gov. Evers has brought Republicans and Democrats together to do the right thing for communities and families in Winnebago County, and he’s just getting started.
Gov. Evers Delivers for Winnebago County
In December 2021, Gov. Evers announced an additional $110 million dollars for Wisconsin’s public schools, about $133.72 in per pupil aid across the state. The Oshkosh district is set to receive $1.3 million.
The governor visited the Oshkosh Convention and Visitors Bureau in October 2021 to award them more than $450,000 as part of his $15 million announcement awarding grants to Destination Marketing Organizations through the state’s Destination Marketing Organization Grant Program.
In February 2021, Gov. Evers signed a bill to allow pharmacy technicians and students to administer COVID-19 vaccines and toured the COVID-19 vaccination clinic on the UW-Oshkosh campus. In August 2021, the governor returned to Winnebago County to host a press conference at the Winnebago County Health Department, announcing the state’s $100 COVID-19 Vaccine Reward Program. During this period, more than 142,000 Wisconsinites received their first dose.
