Gov. Tony Evers is doing the right thing for Richland County and all of Wisconsin. Under his leadership, 15 Richland County small businesses have opened their doors or expanded and Richland County businesses have received an additional 460 grants to help pay bills, stock shelves, hire employees, and more. He has also followed through on his promise to expand high-speed internet access by investing $3,181,000 in Richland County projects alone, extending internet access to more than 1,165 residential locations and over 66 businesses. Across Wisconsin, Gov. Evers continues to deliver results. 86% of Wisconsinites have received a 15% income tax cut or more, unemployment is at historic lows, and our schools are ranked among the top 10 in the nation. Gov. Evers has brought Republicans and Democrats together to do the right thing for communities and families in Richland County, and he’s just getting started.
Gov. Evers Delivers for Richland County
In January 2022, Gov. Tony Evers highlighted six projects across the state of Wisconsin that are receiving over $23 million in grants to expand high-speed internet to more than 3,400 residential and 200 business locations that are currently unserved or underserved primarily in Crawford, Sauk, Iowa, Richland, and Ashland counties.
In November 2021, Gov. Evers visited the Richland Center Visitor Center in Richland County as part of his tour announcing $15 million in grants for several Destination Marketing Organizations around the state. This investment, which was part of the governor’s larger $140 million investment in Wisconsin’s tourism and entertainment industries, awarded grants to 120 organizations to expand on their work to attract regional, national, and international visitors to explore all that Wisconsin has to offer.
