Gov. Tony Evers is doing the right thing for Oconto County and all of Wisconsin. Under his leadership, 32 Oconto County small businesses have opened their doors or expanded and Oconto County businesses have received an additional 834 grants to help pay bills, stock shelves, hire employees, and more. He has also followed through on his promise to expand high-speed internet access by investing $1,844,419 in Oconto County projects alone, extending internet access to approximately 754 residential locations and approximately 28 businesses. Across Wisconsin, Gov. Evers continues to deliver results. 86% of Wisconsinites have received a 15% income tax cut or more, unemployment is at historic lows, and our schools are ranked among the top 10 in the nation. Gov. Evers has brought Republicans and Democrats together to do the right thing for communities and families in Oconto County, and he’s just getting started.

Gov. Evers Delivers for Oconto County

In October 2021, Gov. Evers visited with several local small business owners from Oconto to hear about how the governor’s Main Street Bounceback Grants helped support their businesses and local Main Street. Gov. Evers visited Oconto Flowers and The Shop on Main to see firsthand how grant funding through the governor’s program helped support their businesses, the local Oconto community, and building a strong state economy.

Gov. Evers signed a $7.7 million contract to improve 10.1 miles of road from Trinity Church Road to County AA in the town of Breed, and to replace the WIS 32 bridge deck over the Oconto River.
