MADISON, Wis. — Today, the Building and Construction Trades of South Central Wisconsin announced their endorsement of Governor Tony Evers’ re-election campaign.
“We are proud to announce our endorsement for Governor Tony Evers in his bid for re-election,” said Jac Weitzel, Executive Director of Building Trades Council of South Central Wisconsin. “Governor Evers has been a champion for laborers and for working families. During his first term, he fixed more than 1,700 miles of road and nearly 1,300 bridges, lowered income taxes for 86% of Wisconsinites, and funded apprenticeship and job training programs for students. Our members are greatly appreciative of his work in making Wisconsin a better, stronger state and look forward to working with Gov. Evers in the future.”
“I am honored to receive the support of the Building Trades Council of South Central Wisconsin,” said Governor Tony Evers. “Our workers in organized labor are the backbone of our economy, and it’s because of their hard work that our state is stronger than ever. That’s why I’ll continue to invest in apprenticeship programs and technical colleges, which are important for growing our economy and for filling jobs across the state.”
The Building Trades Council of South Central Wisconsin is a group of 17 local building trades unions representing more than 6,000 building trades members who live and work in our seven county area.
